St. Louis Pet Rescue only adopts to the local St. Louis metro area. Bingo

Adopting a rescue pet is a large commitment. These pets are looking for someone to love and be their companion for the rest of their days. Most cases, we do not know the pet’s history, their real breed or true age. We hope you’ll join us in the adventure in rescue and consider adopting one of our pets.

How Do I Adopt?
Take a look at the following forms and included STLPR Adoption Agreement.

Dog Adoption Application

Cat adoption application

You may submit the adoption application via email, mail or in person at an adoption event. If you wish to meet a pet, please submit this form, then we will put you in contact with the pet’s foster parent to arrange a meeting.

One thing to consider when adopting a rescue cat is what declawing actually means.

Once you meet the pet and wish to adopt, you will be able to pay the adoption fee and take your pet home. You will be mailed your pet’s vaccination documentation and microchip registration forms shortly after the adoption.

Why Charge an Adoption Fee?
Adoption fees are listed on the pet’s adoptable pet listing. The adoption fee covers their vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, blood and fecal vet exam. STLPR charges adoption fees to help cover some of the cost of vetting and caring for the pet. Our veterinarian does these services at greatly reduced rates. These services would cost an individual over $500!

What If It Doesn’t Work Out?
Per the STLPR Adoption Agreement (see the application forms above), you are required to return the pet to STLPR. Please do provide us with some notice and work with us on a time to retrieve the pet. Most volunteers work full-time jobs, and are unable to retrieve the pet during the business day.

STLPR will be flexible with a refund up to 7 days.
